Well, the only way I able to get a consitent frame size … was by checking the re-compress option, my batch export settings. I chose only to do this on sequence that was giving me problems. Because recompressing anything isn’t whats best … but it worked.

I guess my client used a different brand of camera on the angle that’s has been giving me this problem in FCP 2. Wonder if that would have any influence on the issue? Mixing camera brands?

I have two 1.5 TB & a 500 GB Maxtor one touch hard drive … one of my 1.5 TB has been problematic. It crashes my MacPro a lot. The other two work good though. Don’t buy a Lacie … they always crap out, especially the big disks.

    Thanks,

Still no answer though as to why this is happening, huh? I guess my client used a different brand of camera on the angle that’s been giving me problems. Wonder if that would have any influence on the issue?

I probably should have mentioned that I’m trying to do a multi-cam project edit. You think that’s probably why the FW800 drive is too slow? I might just go and buy a couple SATA drives and stripe ’em, see if that works. It worked BETTER on one internal atleast, maybe the raid will help.

I appreciate the advice guys, thanks so much! I will try the single FW800 drive, and see if that works. Otherwise, I may stripe two internal drives … and use the FW800 as backups.

    Best Regards, Jesse

Oh yeah, duh. You are correct sir. But I can’t really afford any video cards right now unfortunately.

Should I do a internal raid or mirror? They are 7300rpms.

I’ll try again with a single FW800 drive, see if that works. The internal is 7300rpm. Maybe if a buy a 3rd internal, and raid, or mirror two 500GBs?
