Thanks for that info. It looks, from what you say, as if the upgrade that Adobe are selling, for 6.5 and earlier to 1.5, is not appropriate for Premiere Pro 7. So how do I upgrade – or shouldn’t I need to?

No, there wasn’t. I Googled for it and found it on this page of the Matrox site: https://www.matrox.com/video/support/rtx10hw/rec/storage.cfm
There is a link in the text four paragraphs after the daigram, under the heading “Using serial ATA controllers”. Although the reference is for RTX10, it worked fine for me.

Many thanks for your quick reply to my problem, Aaron. I must admit to being a bit depressed by your comments to start with. However, I downloaded the PCI Optimizer from Matrox as you suggested and, you know what, it worked!

So I hope I will be able to get along with my incompatible hardware – I haven’t yet found any other malfunctions.
