IMPORT LtRt into AVID and export it making sure it stays LtRt.

This is an old post but doesn’t hurt to ask if anyone knows how to bring LtRt into AVID Media Composer 7 and what settings to use to make sure the LtRt stays intact on export.

I will keep that in mind.

It’s just that DaVinci Resolve 9 exported it automatically with the MXF files and I, for some reason, just kept it together.

But that’s a good note.

This is how it worked:

I put all the MXF files that Davinci created (including the aaf) into a new folder “2” in the AVID MEDIA>MXF.

***The difference here was the clue Michael gave of moving the .mdb and .pmr files into that folder. Avid regenerated .mbd and .pmr files for the existing “1” folder. I had deleted it at first and even though AVID recreated it, it didn’t quite read it properly.

Than in AVID I imported the AAF file that DaVinci Resolve 9 created with my export (that came in the “2” folder).

and Voila!

It read everything perfectly.

I copied to multiple places, one trial at a time. I made a numbered folder in the AVID MEDIA>MXF folder. I copied inside the 1 folder. I made a subfolder. When I erase the .pmr and .mdb files, it re-indexes these files into Avid but still shows offline. I then import the AAF and it stills shows offline.

I tried relinking them not checking the “relink only to media from current project” and “matchcase when comparing source names just like multiple instructrions told me to but that still didn’t do it.

I also tried re-rendering it from DaVinci Resolve but still no luck.

I have a feeling the problem is in the files DaVinci sends out if I’m not mistaken but I don’t know what else to do.

Hi Michael,

I’m running MC version 7 and DaVinci version 9.

I rendered mxf files out of DaVinci to a folder and exported aaf. I copied the folder in side the AVID MEDIA>MXF>1 folder and deleted the .pmr and .mdb files off of it. Avid automatically rebuilds the database and reads the files but when I import the AAF on AVID, the Media and sequence still shows offline. I’ve tried this a few times a little bit differently but I still cannot get the Media Files to cooperate.

Any ideas?
