Receiving an LTRT .wav file from audio house, can this .wav file be imported to Avid Xpress Pro then laid to tape master still preserving the surround encoding? Or does importing into Avid strip the surround info and just leave u with stereo? Trying to figure out if I need an audio post house to do the layback of the audio or if I can do it while outputting the picture. Thanks in advance for any help u guys can give.

Is it Dolby E or a regular LT/RT track? Regular LT/RTtracks are no problem. The encoding is done is such a way that it is “hidden” in a regular mix.

Dolby E is a data stream and will only work with a deck capable of handling that such as the HDCAMSR.

Thanks for the response and info, yes it’s just a regular LtRt, no Dolby E. Would there be any difference with outputting the audio analog versus digital (i.e. I have a regular Mojo would I need an SDI mojo)? Or the LtRt remains intact no matter? Thanks again.

Import them as files via WAV or BWF.

IMPORT LtRt into AVID and export it making sure it stays LtRt.

This is an old post but doesn’t hurt to ask if anyone knows how to bring LtRt into AVID Media Composer 7 and what settings to use to make sure the LtRt stays intact on export.

    Thank you so much!
