    thank you

dancing card, possibly–but I think I need something more customizable

I need to be able to manually drag/move some of the pieces once tiled

    cool thanks for that

can you offer any tips on the issue of “kinks” in curves that just won’t go away (regardless of interpolation type?)

    thx again

I figured it out, in case anyone else had a similar question:

go to the lines renderer settings, down at the bottom, under “calc lines distance”, and instead of all frames, select one frame (or time interval–kind of a cool effect)

works great on my pc (not on my mac for some odd reason)

I’m sure I can work around it (and I had the same issue with a similar expression from Dan Ebbert on a post from a couple years back)

    thanks anyhow!

    hi Roland,

I’ve got a simple rig using your expression, and it works great, until the camera moves past the beam connection point in z-space–then the beam goes haywire (flips axes? not sure….)

is there a way to avoid this?

    cheers

    Hi Dan,
just found this a couple years late; I’ve used your expression and it works great, till the camera moves past the point of connection in z space–then the beam goes nuts…? any ideas if you’re still out there?

January 7, 2013 at 6:42 pm in reply to: attach particular to (exact) end of animated stroke

    thanks very much,

I’m just wondering if particular will follow the animation….

guess I’ll have to try it

  • thanks very much for that– but I was mistaken, the layer I’ve applied the stroke effect to is a path (form illustrator) and not a solid layer.

would it still make sense to increase the size, and reapply the stroke? even though it’s a vector asset to begin with? or, is there another way to work with vector paths…

many thanks for the reply Dan,

but I’ve tried your re-ordering tactic with no luck; I’ve gotten some advice on another forum stating that it just won’t ever sync the way I have it set up, since I sliced up and offset my subcomp temporally.
    Do you think that’s accurate?

    cheers
