  • attach particular to (exact) end of animated stroke

    hi all,

I’ve seen related questions on this, but not exactly what I’m after:

I would like to attach an instance of particular to the precise end of an animated stroke (not just following the same path, but coordinated with the animation of the stroke itself)

I have achieved this using beam effect–I can tie it all together with a null object–but I would like to use strokes if possible, for more complex lines…

    Thanks for your help!

Stroke uses masks. Particular use positional data…

If you’re looking for 2d stroke, you can copy the mask path and paste that on a null’s position. Then link the emitter’s position to the null’s.

If its 3d, I suggest you use particular to create the 3d “stroke”. Linking this one with another particular layer should be clear.

    thanks very much,

I’m just wondering if particular will follow the animation….

guess I’ll have to try it

The pasting will create keyframes with a pre-estabilished duration…

as long as you put the first and last in the same duration as your “end stroke” key frames, both animations will stay locked together.
