Ok lemme wrap this all up. He used the gel because it was raining and the gel looked much more realistic than Knoll Light etc. He in fact used something similar to the link below. And I was lucky enough to see the locked cut and I wholly agree that this torch/gel idea of his was much better than anything that could’ve been done in post. Thanks anyway all.

Although the idea of doing it in Post is attractive, it looks much more natural when ‘baked’ in.
Sorry for the horrendous quality but the link below is to a youtube video which displays some of the flares that I’m talking about. Do you have any idea of any transparent yet coloured materials or gels which one could somehow attach to the front of a flashlight?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nz_GmmQxrTg

Yes, it was a flashlight and I agree it sounds daft but it looked ‘utterly fantastic’ as we might say in Britain. It did the same as the glow effect on Knoll Light Factory if you know what i mean, and the torch was shone from the side at a very slight angle.
To give you an idea, click on the link below and watch the video. In the first 10 seconds the effect or something similar is used multiple times to recreate something that’s doesn’t look like a lens flare but technically is.

Oh mighty John, I’m yet again in need of your services. Whenever i import an .mov video into Vegas, there’s a lot of loading and waiting around and if I click or try to do anything during this loading period, my computer instantaneously crashes. I used to be able to import just fine and dandy but it seems like every time I try, it crashes; regardless of whether I click/do anything or not. Do you have any suggestions? Is it my computer that’s the problem? And finally, could you recommend any lossless .mov converters for me?
Many thanks..

So far so good, if it continues to work you may consider yourself my new childhood hero. Thanks 🙂

Am looking for 7.6.4 atm, thanks for the idea!

Ah thank you for the response. Which one should I download? Unfortunately I can’t seem to find 7.6.4 (The one mentioned on your site) for windows download.

Once again I am very grateful for your response, although it neither renders as a moving image nor does it move when I scrub through having ticked animate preview. I should also mention that I am running R11. Just for reference, and so you can spot if I’m doing anything wrong, all I am doing once C4D is open, is;
-Adding a background
-New Texture
-Select the first of the sequentially named JPEG files
-Hit calculate in the animation tab
-Tick animate preview in the editor tabIs there anything I’m missing out? Also, do you have any idea why my computer crashes when I try to import video? Many thanks..

Thanks for the response and I’m sorry to be so vague but it still doesn’t work, it simply shows as one image. Any ideas?
