Hmm, that sounds promising! I’d sure love to be able to do it in Photoshop. I’ll explore….

It’s simply a piece of footage that was edited a few years ago, text was added, masters made, the original elements are gone. So I’m left with a piece of footage with text burned onto it, and I want to remove the text and retain the moving footage underneath, ala drawing out the text with photoshop.

ah ha, I wondered about that question. There is no ‘clean’ video, otherwise I wouldn’t have started this thread!

The original ‘clean’ footage is already digitized and captured in final cut pro.

I’ve already gotten used to FCP, I like it a lot. I do miss a few things from media 100, but, c’est la vie. Recapturing the original footage isn’t really an option, and I really didn’t want to spend the real time. I was hoping I could just access the footage as needed from the media 100 files. And wondering why you say “The sooner you get rid of your M100 media files the better.” That sounds ominous!

Well, that would certainly be great, I hadn’t even tried it, because I’ve been told I shouldn’t have media 100 and fcp on the same computer. I’ve cloned the harddrive and fcp onto another drive, so I’ll see if I can open the files with fcp. Fingers crossed!

Ongoing need. I thought by the time I pay a facility about 50 times I might as well have bought a converter.

How about ones that are not-so-serious $$?

Thanks for the input, I can see this is going to be a bit complicated!
