Does Pinch and Zoom work in the timeline with a Magic Trackpad now?

Yes, this seems to fix it.
Unfortunately, FCPX is now taking 10minutes to quit and another 10-12minutes to open again.

I believe I’ve put too many clips in a single event and this is causing a major performance hit.

Well, I’ve exported my Conformed compound clips and created a new Event and also a new Project.

This has DRAMATICALLY improved the performance issues. I no longer am waiting 16-20 seconds between edits.

I really didn’t want to export the compound clips, because i wanted to be able to dive back in if something needed tweaking, but there was no other options at this point.

I’m creating the compound clips just to narrow down the footage until I get to my final edit.
So, I’ve taken about 65 clips and created 11 different compound clips. Each compound clip contains 6 connected clips and my settings for these compound clips are 1280×720, 59.94fps.

Then I rough cut those 11 compound clips and created 4 new compound clips with the setting of 1280×720 @ 30fps.

From there, I did the conform speed to give me my slow motion effect. When I do that, I get the orange bar at the top of my timeline.
I will render, but if I drag an in or out point, It wants me to re-render again.

Right now, if i move any clips around or do any kind of edits, i’m waiting for about 16 seconds while the rainbow wheel spins.

Am I just pushing the software too much? This doesn’t seem like it is anything outrageous, but something isn’t right.

    Thanks guys.
