    Hi jeremy

    I think I’ve got it.
If it’s shot at 1080p25, its actually 1080 psf 25.
Its a touch confusing what psf is, but effectively to produce progressive frames at 25 fps, which my clients need, I just use 1080i50 clips, in a 1080i50 project, with the field dominance set to none.
Do I have to change the field dominance of the clips themselves or just the sequence?
Any idea why there isn’t a 1080p25 setting?

    Thanks again for your help

    L

The DOP told me its shot at 1080p25, but FCP will only recognize 1080i50.

So just to get back to basics for a second,

if the cameraman shot at 1080 25p, but FCP imports it off P2 as 1080 50i, I just need to set the field preference to “none”, and I will be working at and delivering 1080 25p

    Thanks

  • Great thanks, thats bugged me for a long time

    Cheers

  • Thanks for your help, altering the TC of the AD-88 audio to match the vision speeds up the process afair bit.

previously I had tried making a sequence with vision and DA-88 audio and eye-matching, which works pretty well in Avid, but when you edit a sequence onto a sequenc in FCP, it doesn’t edit the original clips, it seems to edit a refernec to the sequence, but if you export the audio, its empty.

Any how, I’ve got through it for this job so thanks
