Hi Scott,
My impression is, that V14 waaaay much more stable with enabled GPU than the 13 was.
I have few older projects I made in V10 but kept in case I need to rerender. Those were a complete mess in V13 if I didn’t disable GPU – now that works flawless in V14.I use just very few effects, such as color curves, color corrector mainly, but I’m fine with Vegas stock FX’s.
So I can’t tell about 3rd party FX anything.
Vegasaur stopped again, seems I have to buy the 3.0.The interface changed a bit, it got a new BW icon set, which I don’t like very much.
Otherways the main things stay as they were in the previous versions.
I mean, no need to re-learn, as it is the case with Microsofts modern concepts for example.
So if you change from V13 to V14 the first thing you’ll notice is the BW icons on the UI.
The second thing you’ll experience that GPU acceleration does work, and even better: it also seems to be useable

Based on my readings on task manager and gpu-z, seems that GPU accelerated render was ON by default, only the option was hidden.Best regards

We are talking about GPU accelerated rendering. It seems to be gone, simply not present in Vegas14. Hopefully, it is removed just temporary.
It still has GPU acceleration for the timeline playback.
Today I finished a short project with the new V14.
It feels, that it is much more stable, than the V13, and I can:
-apply glow/shadow to a track even with zero blur 🙂
-crop an image to 1:1 or 4:3 without weird “jumping here and there”
while GPU is on. (The above things were impossible in Vegas 13 with GPU enabled)So I have to say a big THANKS to Magix 🙂

For rendering the GPU option seems to be gone. (I don’t find it – maybe it’s a limitation of the trial?)
The rendered file does not contain any watermark, so I think it’s possible to use until the serial arrives 😉Best regards

It is still the demo version, but when it starts, it’s possible to activate.
No, I didn’t do it yet, because I have the old SCS format serial, which this program doesn’t accept.
But I purchased the V13 with the promise that I’ll get V14 for free, so I think I’ll get a serial for this version soon.
I’m just trying it now with the 7 days option 🙂
After a quick test I can report, that at least those 2 bugs that broke my workflow with enabled GPU are resolved.
I liked the old colorful icon set better, but it’s a matter of taste…

Good news. 🙂
So that means we can saefly take our laptops to the field, where there’s no internet connection, and we won’t be surprised by a deactivation because of unsuccessful licence check.

Hi,
if it’s simply constant slow, is it maybe a small record, also called SP?
Those were spinning at 45 rpm, while the LP’s were spinning at 33 1/3 rpm. There used to be a switch on the player, which set the correct speed, noting 45/33, SP/LP or similar…If it’s constant slow, but you can’t find the switch, as a last chance, you can speed it up in post, but that will not sound as good as the original.

First, I really never use auto ripple, and also know the difference between F, ctrl-F, and shift-ctrl-F.
But I really feel stupid 🙁
It was a forgotten and momentarily unseen grouping that involved the other track.
Regarding the keyframes and envelopes, checked back and Vegas 10 behaves the same, so nothing new here.
Again it’s my head which is the culprit.I apologize.
