    Thanks Shane,

I do work with all tapeless formats now – and do tapeless delivery. I export out H.264.

Do you know if there is an easy way to see if I qualify for an upgrade without getting all new hardware? I got all new hardware when I upgraded the last time – getting all avid specs (in my tower) – to support the MC 3.5 (This is the area I’m weakest in – hardware/software).

Do I need to go all the way up to version 7 or is there another one you suggest?

    Thanks Shane,

Yea – I think I’m going to see if we can just book time using one of the green screens at one of our local TV stations. Or I can see if the guy the producer is using to shoot has that “blue” one.

Or if we can shoot something outside – or a different background all together… They weren’t committed to the keying option, they were just thinking they might want it.

Thank you for your suggestions and help. I’ve also got to brush up on how to key her – if we go that route. I don’t want to build higher hurdles than I can jump.

    Have a good night.

    Richard,

That’s exactly what I was hoping for. Ugg – will any other color work? I don’t think I have access to a “green” screen besides maybe a local TV station.

The subject will hopefully be wearing a Polo shirt… She’s from Sea World, and the producer was hoping to put a Sea World shot behind her (we are in upstate NY, NO real Sea World).

I was going to assist at the shoot – to make sure the lighting would work. Softer on her – and clean – no shadowing in the backdrop. I could always try to convince them the clean white background would look good too. 😉

    Thoughts?

September 24, 2013 at 8:02 pm in reply to: Question about system & hardware compatability.

    Thank you Richard,

My footage now looks ok and my HD stuff looks fine too – so, I suppose if the equipment doesn’t get me anything – then yes, I agree with you just purchasing the system for the storage, is too much.

I want more storage, only because the HD takes up a lot of room. I have a few external drives I didn’t mention above, and if you think another sata is the way to go – then I’ll do that.

Thank you so much for the caldigit link. I’ll shop there first.

MC 3.5, Avid Mojo, Windows XP 32bit service Pack 3. NVidia Quadro FX 1500, Intel core 2, Quad CPU, Q9400@2.66 GHz, 2.67 GHZ, 3.24GB of RAM. I’ll see what it says for the 3.5.9… Thanks!

    Thank you Bob!

I thought I had tried what you suggested to do – but will try again. I have to believe there is a way to accomplish the desired result. Otherwise, I’ll have to purchase another authoring system… and I do NOT want to do that. I’m thinking that I did not have the right tap selected… who knows. It’s one of those things… the longer you mess with it and look at it the further you get to resolving the issue. I have had time to step back and will re-try.

Thank you again for your help. I greatly appreciate it!

My sonic is version 6.1 – and it came with my Media Composer… I don’t think it’s “old.” I upgraded to media composer last year.

For some reason I just lost all my work (in sonic) – today just keeps getting better…

yes, I can create playlists. I will try. I’ve never had to work with playlists before… there is a first time for everything.

    Thanks again.

I am PC based… they do have a version of SP for windows… I was just reading about it.

I just can’t wrap my head around – my program not having this option. I know it must be there… but I can’t seem to get it to work properly. And of course with revisions on my edid and all this tinkering… I somehow just blew away the whole menu for my second disk. It’s quite a day.

I was also looking at Ulead DVD MovieFactory 6 Plus – I used to love Uleads Workshop2… but they don’t do 16:9 or HD… it was a long time ago – but the product was great.

“CSS” – not sure what that stands for – but if it’s what I’ve been talking about – I HAVE to have that option.

Oh well, I suppose I’ll come up with something. Thanks for all your help.
