Avid DVD by Sonic still not resolved
Posted by Lor Porter on November 18, 2011 at 1:58 pmI am having an issue with authoring.
I want a playing title (from a menu page) to return to the menu it was selected from when the menu button (on remote) is pressed.
I can only get the both pages of titles (or selections) to go to either the first OR second menu page (there are only two). I can’t find a way to make each title something different.
Can anyone help? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

November 18, 2011 at 2:24 pmI don’t know if AVID DVD supports it,
but this can be realised by scripting commands only as known from Scenarist, DVDStudioPro & Spruce DVD Maestro.Andreas Gumm

November 18, 2011 at 3:09 pmThank you Andreas,
So – do you think I should just get one of these other authoring programs?

November 18, 2011 at 3:29 pmMmmh,
maybe DVD Studio Pro is the best choice if your workflow is Mac based!
You are able to set conditions & playlists to match your needs.Scenarist takes a huge learning curve. It’s the most advanced & also the most complicated tool because there is no abstraction layer! 😉
Spruce DVD Maestro is a discontinued PC based product since Spruce was aquired by Apple. 😉
For PC based workflow maybe DVDlab Pro can be a choice?

November 18, 2011 at 3:54 pmI am PC based… they do have a version of SP for windows… I was just reading about it.
I just can’t wrap my head around – my program not having this option. I know it must be there… but I can’t seem to get it to work properly. And of course with revisions on my edid and all this tinkering… I somehow just blew away the whole menu for my second disk. It’s quite a day.
I was also looking at Ulead DVD MovieFactory 6 Plus – I used to love Uleads Workshop2… but they don’t do 16:9 or HD… it was a long time ago – but the product was great.
“CSS” – not sure what that stands for – but if it’s what I’ve been talking about – I HAVE to have that option.
Oh well, I suppose I’ll come up with something. Thanks for all your help.

November 18, 2011 at 4:02 pmDo you have the ability to create different playlists from the same asset in AVID DVD?
If so, create an extra playlist for each button starts the same content & link that from & back to the button where it come from!Andreas Gumm
