I’ve been told that using the 16:9 feature on the GL2 will suffer a quality hit. Just wondered if I shoot 4:3 using the 16:9 guides, then matte top and bottom in FCP if the final product will fill a 16:9 screen. I will run a test before the actual shoot, but don’t have access to a wide screen TV right now. Thanks.

Thanks, Tom, for the detailed reply. If I do use a DV sequence, would exporting that sequence using QuickTime Conversion as Uncompressed 8-bit provide better graphics than exporting using Quicktime Movie with current settings? Or is the quality dictated/limited by the sequence settings before export?

Thanks for the help. Another question –for a short program, could I use the second internal drive (250 gigs) as a media drive for a SD project, or do I need to have a RAID?

G5 2.3 dual core/4 gigs ram/ 2 X 250 internal drives

Correct me if I’m wrong anyone, but it’s my understanding that the GIF format does not support transparency. Perhaps you could open the files in Photoshop and export in another format (PNG,JPEG,PICT,PSD).
