Thank you both, for the input. I’ll give both options a try.

I already had asked the Photographer if it was HDR…her answer was: No HDR Lisa, 3 layers in photoshop, the effect was put through Lightroom and nik color efex.

Yep, I agree, I think it’s Lion too. I am back in Motion, because of a previous file that I needed to work. I’m still having the same issues, but I find if I drop my Render down to bare minimums…it works slightly better. I still have to restart every few minutes.

I might try the new Motion, I have to read up on it though. Is it standalone?

I used to use AE more often, but Motion became cool for a while. Not sure if it’s Lion, or just my system…but it was being very buggy. I’m learning how to work with 3D camera space….and now I know how to do it in both, lol.

I recreated my entire project in After Effects CS5….Apple Motion can kiss it. Maybe I’ll even give Premiere another chance too. Been in FCStudio since 2006.

Thank you both for your input. I couldn’t stand the super long conversion to HDV in clipwrap, so I did go with ProRes LT. It still took 5 hours for an hour and half of footage, but it was better than 24!

Now I need to re-digitize my other tapes and just edit in ProRes. Hopefully I’ll be able to deliver in that as well. thanks 🙂

46 Second AVCHD clip took 8 mins ProRes HQ output from Clipwrap. Same clip HDV output took 13 mins. HDV plays fine though in FCP, not jumpy. I guess I just have to endure the wait?

    Hi Shane,

Yes, I am editing in HDV. It was a 4 camera shoot at a concert, 2 cams HDV codecs, and then two other Sony’s in AVCHD. I just tried a small sample in ProRes HQ from Clipwrap and it’s jumpy still, and, I get that red render line in my HDV Sequence when adding the ProRes, as well as a ProRes Sequence, with HDV….red lining. I prefer to convert to HDV, but I guess you’re saying that’s why it’s taking me so long….because I’m going out to HDV? Ugh, thought this would be simpler. 🙂

I had the designer do a “save as”, and resend. fixed it.
