maybe a codec problem. try play the file to VLC player.
or try other MP4 template to render.

this happened to me. i just open task manager, kill the process FILEIOSurrogate.exe and vegas application. launch again vegas pro and it opens again normally.

Did you run the installer with administrative privilege? Right-click Installer>Run as Administrator. Did you partition your Drive? what is the Size of 1st partition and 2nd Partition? Where is the exact location of installation point to?

it is still digital, embedded in your video. most consumer camcorder cannot produce good audio because the lack of manual controls, etc. Running in battery will lessen the noise. Try it and check the audio if it is acceptable to you.

if you use microphone, run the camcorder using battery not from the charger/power supply plugged into AC outlet, because it produces noise in Audio.

yes, get another drive and put all your media files you use on that drive and observe if it will happen again.

did you try applying deinterlace filter? OPTIONS>PREFERENCES>PREVIEW DEVICE. tick the box APPLY DEINTERLACE FILTER, or play the other settings there
