    one hd?

if so, simply get another hd for capture – your dropped frames will be a thing of the past…

    ah ha.

thanks, but if you still werren’t happy, then i’ll probably wait till the next version too. it’s a pity, but like you, i don’t want to have to think about the software, rather the program i’m working on…

    thanks again,

where did you turn off 3d? (i haven’t reloaded wax yet, is there a 3d setting in it, or are you writing about video drivers?)

    many thanks,

i did – 2.0e, but it doesn’t seem too happy. occassional freezes, 50/50 chance of seeing preview, and other weirdness. pity, cause i remember effects from 4 and they were pretty good, especially, as you say, for free.

since i’m happy as things are with my black box, (okay, i conceed, the beige was pretty awful after 15 years or so), i’m not going to go looking for trouble by troubleshooting a free plugin. i’ll just watch the groups till either the noise forces a new release, or wait till 2.0f is released in due course.

either way, it’s bloody fantastic that people not only write plug-ins in general, but that they do them so well, and in the case of sl luminence, hit the missing nail on the head…

    thanks again,

    thanks again edward.

i’ve actually tried loading wax a few times – it worked in 4, had a couple of hic-ups in 5, and doesn’t seem to like 6 at all.

truth is, i hardly gave it a chance since the little i saw of the effects were somewhat cheesey. but for this new client….

anything i should be aware of loading it onto an intel running version 6c? what do i do about ram preview / dummy media? if you tell me to rtfm, i’ll understand you, but not the manual!

    as ever,

    thanks edward.

do you have any other suggestions? i don’t really want to spend a huge amount on this, but if i’m going to have to bite the bullet, i’d like a sweet tasting one please.

as ever, the cavalry to the rescue….

many thanks to both of you. i think peter’s way is what i was actually after, having used edwards to capture a background earlier on. i presume it’s in the manual, but i was so pressed for time i couldn’t find it.

sad state of affairs when the cow is quicker than the index….

    again, thanks,
