Sorry I can’t help you but I have had this come up on Vegas 9 Trial Version. My PC is pretty entry level but I am only editting holiday footage. It does it when I split a clip, nothing more technical than that! Just wondered if you found a fix. I simply have to click on the error message boxes that keep coming up repeatedly until they stop (3 or 4 times) & carry on.

The trouble is the regular crossfade is only available when you drag clips over each other which as far as I can tell has to be done one at a time with autocrossfade. If a regular crossfade was (or could be) put in the list of transitions then I could do as you suggested but then it looks like transitions do not affect the audio track as well.divide & conquer!
