Using trial version of Vegas 9 & have just about got to grips with all the features on it that I used to use on Pinnacle. With that program you could “ripple transitions” between 1st & last crossfade of the final edit, hit the button & it would put crossfades between all the clips.
Do you have to drag all the clips together using AutoCrossfade one by one or is there a quicker way?

you can select all the clips in explorer and drag them to the timelline, then select all the clips in the timeline and drag the cross disolve transition onto them. I believe this is what your looking to do. Hope this helps, Danny Hays

Hi Danny thanks for the quick reply
The trouble is the regular crossfade is only available when you drag clips over each other which as far as I can tell has to be done one at a time with autocrossfade. If a regular crossfade was (or could be) put in the list of transitions then I could do as you suggested but then it looks like transitions do not affect the audio track as well.

Oh yea, I see what you mean. Also transitions do only apply to video events. I just drag one of the event edges over to do what you want. But if you have alot of clips and want it automatic, I’m sure there’s a script or one can be made for this. I don’t know if any other Vegas leaders are monitoring this thread so why don’t you start another thread inquiring about such a script. There’s several guys at the top of the page that know alot about scripts and could help you. Also post it in the normal Sony Vegas forum as this is not basic. Danny Hays
