    Well, now I am lost:

I sent an email to NoiseIndustries and they replied:

Those effects are not part of FxFactory. Image Units are not video effect plug-ins in the traditional sense. They are a more “primitive” graphics plug-in, and Mac OS X ships with hundreds of those out of the box.

    I totally agree with you.
As a freelance editor, I try to be constantly learning new tools. I am an editor, but I was involved in graphic design, some compositing, and color correcting while other editors focus only in plain cutting. I tend to learn as much as I can.
When I look back, every thing I learned in the past take me here where I am. It’s like Steve Jobs said at Stanford speech: You can’t connect the dots, but when you look back, they are connected.

    Tom,
I am not saying you are wrong, but not all of the high end projects needs that.
I work at the high end advertising industry and rarely we reopen old projects.
So, what is the high end pro market? Mine or yours? neither one.
There are different requirements along all the different market segments.
Some may fit well in the FCPX actual workflow and some may don’t, but neither of this things can define what pro high end is.

Yes. I am using Lion since I don’t use my own computer for work.

And that was a missunderstanding (perhaps becouse here, in Argentina, it’s 0:15hs). I saw Mac OS X v10.5 and I thout “Lion” (Lion is 10.7).

I can not find how to remove that. I used FxFactory uninstaller, and was the only add on I installed.

    Thanks for answering.

Mark, are you using Lion? I found this in the M5 user manual:

    Image Units (Generators)
The Image Units category appears in the Motion Library if you are running Mac OS X v10.5 or later. Motion supports the operating system’s Core Image Units (generators).

Maybe they are core image plugins. And bugy ones.

Could it be from FxFactory? I uninstalled it. Maybe was part of it and that’s the reason why doesn’t work?

I made a few tests with RED footage and the results was very good. (The light was perfect and with a very good chroma background at the studio. A woman with swimming suite and blonde long hair moving. The camera speed was at 100fps as I can remember).
