Sorry, I see that now in your 1st post. The only other thing I could add is what dnx res did you import it with. Could it have been compressed to say..dnx36 on import?

could it be that your video quality is not set to “green” / 10 bit?
its an icon at the bottom of your timeline that you can use to toggle thru various qualities to help with playback

I ended up figuring out a way last night.
    my mov was called
    bars_pluge_src_dnx.mov

    ffmbc -i bars_pluge_src_dnx.mov 2>&1|grep timecode:|sed “s/[^0-9]*//”

    did the trick

    thanks!

    Thanks for you post.

Im not familiar with keyboard Maestro.
I do use quickeys for most things, Im assuming they both do the same things but ill take a look at it.

It sounds like most apps. I struggle with Avid in the same way.
If only we developers could open the door to the UI a bit and allow professionals to streamline. So much of what we do is repetitive. It can feel like being an accountant some days.

Thats my whinge for the day!
    Thanks again

    Heh,

Yes I would be telling him to suck it up and live with the split tracks if it were a commercial but Its a TV series ie 30 mins x many Eps, with lots of cast. Cutting a six hander, for example, would end up being a lot of tracks once you try and overlap dialogue.

    Bummer,
There is so much data management and repetition in Post and so little time that some simple commands would make the world of difference.
    thanks for your response tho

Im playing around with a spreadsheet to do this process.
Do you know if this is all the categories that there are in the change list or am I missing some?

    Delete
    No Change
    Trim Head
    Lengthen Tail
    Move Head
    Trim Tail
    Insert shot

    Thanks again
