    Does anyone know of console commands that would control the avid to select tracks, mark an in and an out, cut and insert edit?
    Its to automate a few jobs I have.
    I know I could use quickeys but it can be a bit buggy.

    There is no automation or scripting in Media Composer, console or not. This is usually done with third party applications as you mention.

    Bummer,
    There is so much data management and repetition in Post and so little time that some simple commands would make the world of difference.
