February 14, 2012 at 1:33 am in reply to: Any tips for creating sharp (not fuzzy or blurry) Titles in FCP?Hey Shane,
I’m not sure of the codec of the timeline as I let FCP match the settings of the raw footage. I can tell you the size and codec I converted it to though.Thank you!

I just read how monitors are RGB and printing is cmyk so it’s impossible to calibrate the two together. If that’s the case,
What do professional photographers who print their own photos do?Thank you!

Thank you, Curtis. I calibrated my monitor as best I could (not exactly the easiest or most precise method)and will work with the HP printing settings. For some reason, the application I used on my PC worked much better than iphoto or even when I take the photos from iphoto and save them as high rez jpegs and print from my desktop instead. I wonder what the pros do?
Thanks, again!Larry

Thank you, Steve. One last question: since I shot in 4:3, in FCP should I just use the DV codec for my sequence setting?
Thank you!

Thank you, Steve. That’s what I think too but since there are so many other options such as gamma settings etc. I thought I’d look into those. Unfortunately I just don’t have the time to do any tests first.
Question though: why choose 60i?
Thanks again!

Hey Chris,
Thanks for getting back to me. I am more curious to know things such as which film vs. video setting, gamma/scene file to choose, fps and shutter, etc/ If this were just a news camera, I’d be shooting the standard at 30fps with the shutter at 1/60.
Can you help with that too?
Thanks, again!Larry
P.S. Ah, Atlanta. I spent a few years in Macon and many days and nights in and around Atlanta as well. Great city!
Thank you!

August 10, 2010 at 10:48 am in reply to: Exporting a 2hour long sequence out of FCP and into DVDSPWhat I meant to say is that I’d really like to use the template. That’s my goal anyway. I’ll preview my posts from now on before I post.
Thank you!

August 10, 2010 at 10:46 am in reply to: Exporting a 2hour long sequence out of FCP and into DVDSPOne other thing,
When I export the 2 hour file into DVDSP, the file size is 3.2GB which is fine but when I add in the Template that I want to use, the file jumps up to 6.3GB so the burn quits. I know that the easiest thing to do would be to not use a template but I’d really like to.
This, I suppose, brings me back to my original question of how I can get that 3.2GB considerable lower to allow for the template size and then, how do I then make it into a reference file so that DVDSP will be able to read it?
Thank you!!Larry
