  • Any tips for creating sharp (not fuzzy or blurry) Titles in FCP?

    Hey All,

As the subject line says, I am wondering if anyone can offer any tips for how to make simple titles look really sharp? Are there certain colors/fonts to stay away from? Any particular settings? The reason I ask is because often the titles look kind of fuzzy or blurry.
    Thank you!

    Thank you!

What are the sequence settings that you are working with? Size…dimensions…codec (codec is key!)

    Hey Shane,
I’m not sure of the codec of the timeline as I let FCP match the settings of the raw footage. I can tell you the size and codec I converted it to though.

    Thank you!

Open the SEQUENCE SETTINGS…that’ll tell you.

And you don’t know the codec/size of the footage you are working with? That’s info you need to know.

I’ve always found FCP’s titles to leave much to be desired.
Red text can be a nightmare (across all codecs)

The best method I have found is using AE/Photoshop.
