I know this thread is old but I was having the exact same problem. Solved it by uninstalling Quicktime 7.6.6 that I was running and installing and older version, 7.6.4.

Worked like a charm. Downloaded the older version from here:
https://www.oldapps.com/quicktime_player.php?old_quicktime=25#Download

Hope this helps someone else who may run into this.
