The official mac config guide says you’ll need 6, 12, or 24Gb -
I sent the link because of the review site, not because of the revodrive:)
anyway, fast seek time is an absolute pro for ssd.I know that you said ‘let’s put money a side”, but I’ve just built a 4TB software raid0 array for the price of the 120Gig Vertex3.
I hope it changes though, I’d like to see ssd prices drop to the half of the current price till the end of 2013 -
Even the mac config guide states, that “Some models of SSD cannot save video data at the speed indicated by the manufacturer because the disk uses hidden data compression to reach these higher write speeds. ”
https://www.blackmagic-design.com/media/2384470/DaVinci_Resolve_Mac_Config_Guide.pdfOne good review site tests new ssd’s with blackmagic’s disk speed test, which shows the real capability of an ssd to write video data:
https://www.hardwareheaven.com/reviews/1238/pg8/ocz-revodrive-3-x2-480gb-pcie-ssd-review-hd-video-read-write.htmlAnyway what seems to be a good idea is to throw a Highpoint RocketRAID in your mac, buy a sas-sata adapter cable, and simply connect the ssd’s directly to the card. It’s not that fancy looking as an external RAID case, but…:)

some say HDMI is capable for your 10bit output, with 4:4:4, but nobody seemed so sure, so I went with the terminal board.
As for the HD-SDI boards, if you need 4:4:4, or 2K output, you’ll need the TY-FB11DHD, otherwise the TY-FB9HD is enough for 1080p, 4:2:2.One more note – I have the PF30 series -, I saw some auto-gamma, or auto-brightness through the hdmi port. Now I use it with the HD-SDI board, and I can rarely see it, and it’s much more subtle.
Maybe the best way to test it, – you’ll have to buy the BM Extreme wither way -, is to buy and hdmi cable, and try it. If it doesn’t work you’ll still have the option to drop a few thousand on the input board:)

one note is that these cards (lower-end decklinks, intensity) isn’t being continuously tested with DaVinci.
If it works, great. But – as far as I know, it is possible that – an update could kill the support. -
I’ve found these charts for color, and other apps, maybe it helps figuring out a way in davinci:

Yes I thought it’s Color, but I’m interested in the exact value display, like Softness=4.7083

please take a look at the mac config guide about storage (uncompressed formats as a DPX sequence needs a fast raid setup):

Well, it’s not Philip Bloom’s, but Technicolor’s:)

where can I find more information about this? I have a PF series display.
