  • new projects don’t work either.. they crash after a minuet just like everything else. All media loads regardless if the project is new or old.. I can play around for about a minuet.. but then it crashes..
it’s not rendering or any particular action that is causing it.. because if I were to do nothing at all.. it would still crash. regardless of the project.

  • Tried that.. I can get that far.. but it doesn’t solve the immediate crash after a minuet that happens every time anything is started.

  • about 1 minuet after all the media loads in the project.. it’s exactly about a minuet for every project. I tried reinstalling it didn’t help anything.. even getting rid of the preferences and reinstalling..
same problem. I know the culprit is when I changed the drive letter.. changing it back didn’t help.. also photoshop, aftereffects, and media encoder all don’t work.. All of them have worked though for about 2 years now.

This was immediately after the drive letter change.. the drive itself is healthy and all it’s files are fine.. I don’t know what to do.. I’ve tried all the basics.. clearing cache.. preference.. reinstall.. and unfortunately I didn’t have system restore turned on.. so I don’t have that option.

I really hope someone can help

Thanks for helping, I tried it.. but when I paste the sound into the new sequence in the same project.. it still doesn’t include the constant gain or fade outs.. only when I paste in the same sequence in the same project does it keep them..

  • Adobe Premiere Pro CS4. 4.2.1 on Windows XP pro.

I’m working with all three audio formats
Mostly Wav,a good number of Mp3, and mabye two or three Aif.
I’m only copying the sound not the video.

(I should note, if I copy and paste in the same project,
it will keep my fade outs and constant gains on the sound clip..
The problem is I need to paste them into a new project. when
I do this it pastes the sound but none of them have the constant
gains or fade outs on them.)

Also, if it is a fade out or gain that was created with keyframes, that will successfully copy in the new project. and any volume or keyframe settings on the sound will successfully. But almost all my constant gains or fade outs were created with the audio transition effects placed on top of the sound file. these are the ones that do not paste in the new project.

thanks for the advice, but I have tried the things mentioned..
Also here is the problem. It’s a 2 hour HD feature.. so rendering
out to MPEG2 takes 10 hours.. that means ever time I make a tweak or any slight change.. thats another 10 hours of waiting.. so it’s not really time efficient.. that was the reason I got dynamic link.. and it doesn’t even work.. So if the problem with dynamic link is unfixable.. Is it atleast possible to make it faster to transfer out to mpeg2 without reducing quality?..

    I’m using a 32bit system.

8gigs of ram, windows xp, a nice nividia video card..

I’ve tried doing what you said.. it didn’t work.. I’ve
tried so many different suggestions.. and nothing gets
dynamic link not to freeze.. thanks for the help..
    Any other ideas?

I solved the problem, when I reinstalled it did not reinstall my update from 4.00 to a later version of cs4.. when I reinstalled the update as well it then recognized the rendered files.. there is another problem though.. dynamic link still consistently freezes everytime I try to link a project from priemere pro to encore.. or the other way around.. it always locks on 50 percent during the loading..
    any fixes for this?

I have not saved since reinstalling.. out of fear that it might be perminatly unrendered.. it is not asking to be relinked, it is just accepting that the footage is unrendered

This didn’t work.. my rendered files are all in the folder.. I’m sure I’m doing it right.. I just don’t understand why the video registers as unrendered in the project
