Copying sound, won’t paste fade outs in new project!!
So I have to copy all my sound from one project and put it in a new project.. but there’s a big problem.. when I paste the sound in the new project.. it loses the fade out and fade in (constant gain) properties.. It just pastes the sound without the fade outs and ins.. and those are very important to the sound design of my project..
replacing all the constant gains and fade outs to each individual sound clip all over again would take forever.. as it’s a 2hour movie I’m working on. I would miss deadlines..Is there something I don’t know.. how do I maintain my constant gain and sound fade outs when pasting sound into a new project..
PLEASE HELP!!

What version of PPro are you using?
What kind of media are you working with? mp3? wav? aif? video formats?
This is odd behaviour, we may need some more details to attempt to replicate it, or rule out a bug, or offer some ‘workaround’ options.

Adobe Premiere Pro CS4. 4.2.1 on Windows XP pro.
I’m working with all three audio formats
Mostly Wav,a good number of Mp3, and mabye two or three Aif.
I’m only copying the sound not the video.(I should note, if I copy and paste in the same project,
it will keep my fade outs and constant gains on the sound clip..
The problem is I need to paste them into a new project. when
I do this it pastes the sound but none of them have the constant
gains or fade outs on them.)Also, if it is a fade out or gain that was created with keyframes, that will successfully copy in the new project. and any volume or keyframe settings on the sound will successfully. But almost all my constant gains or fade outs were created with the audio transition effects placed on top of the sound file. these are the ones that do not paste in the new project.

Maybe exporting the sound from project 1 and importing in project 2 can be a solution.

I am curious as to how you are transferring from one project to the other?
I would copy the audio I want in another project into a new sequence for just the audio. Then I would close thr original project and open the second project. Now I would import the old project ans select just the sequence with the audio. That will import all the assets used in the sequence and add it into a single folder. Now open the imported sequence to see the audio files. Copy and paste into desired sequence.

Thanks for helping, I tried it.. but when I paste the sound into the new sequence in the same project.. it still doesn’t include the constant gain or fade outs.. only when I paste in the same sequence in the same project does it keep them..

Are the sequences the same format?
If so….create a copy of your sequence that includes all the audio elements you want.
then remove everything but the audio elements you need…
and use this as starting point for your new edit.
