Did you guys ever find a solution to this?

I’m running Avid 8.9 and am getting errors on XDCAM MXF OP1a similar to yours. The exports have pixelated video on the upper third of the frame in random spots throughout. it makes it look like very low res video but that’s not the case….and just like you, the video is fine in the timeline and only on export is there noticeable issues – noticed using VLC player and importing/ama linking back to avid.

I’ve tried Avid 8.91, Avid 8.7.2, updating the Avid ISIS 5500 shared storage, new user profiles, exporting in different workstations…

I filed a support ticket but am hoping to get some answers sooner than later!

Hope this message reaches you since this thread is from 2015…

It works but this is an example of how it formats into word document:

[TIMECODE] this is a test. [TIMECODE][TIMECODE] this is a test. [TIMECODE][TIMECODE] this is a test. [TIMECODE][TIMECODE] this is a test. [TIMECODE][TIMECODE] this is a test. [TIMECODE][TIMECODE] this is a test. [TIMECODE][TIMECODE] this is a test. [TIMECODE][TIMECODE] this is a test. [TIMECODE][TIMECODE] this is a test. [TIMECODE][TIMECODE] this is a test. [TIMECODE]etc

    It’s a jumbled mess.

Within CatDV, the log notes are logged and structured with line breaks like this:

    [TIMECODE] this is a test.
    [TIMECODE] this is a test.
    [TIMECODE] this is a test.

It’s nice and easy to read and sift through. But when exported, it’s a mess. And when interviews go on for up to 40 minutes it creates a lot of wasted time manually formatting the page to be able to easily read and formulate a script out of it.

Hope that paints a better picture. Just curious if anyone else is frustrated by this.

Apologies, I didn’t clarify enough. We are having trouble exporting our Log Notes into organized documents which can be easily read and turned into a script.

    PROBLEM SOLVED!

For those who also run CATDV 10.0 and want to work with XAVC codecs, simply download the AVC Intra Decoder from Calibrated Software. $150 and didn’t have to reinvent the workflow wheel!

Promax suggested updating to catdv 11 and that it has an updated playback engine which would work with FS7 footage. It was able to import but there were import errors on every single clip. Playback was laggy, and verbatim logger failed to open. So far this does not solve the problem for our logging and archiving needs.

I emailed ProMax again. We’ll see what they say.

I just had my own question answered…

so the Administrator password for the system was changed and I guess the Network couldn’t communicate to the archive/cache-a until it was changed back. phew!
