I am also facing similar Problem with PVW2800P
beta guy suggested i should switch off the VITC and that would help
my concern here is since we are useing component video output
taking Y out should be ok ????? we can put T connector and take it
in the middle of the patch????

adaptec 2410 is not PCI X 100 mhz card so your less throughput is actually card limitation

any of the hardware raid cards are useless as they have hardware over head for processing raid 0
however you can still use cards like broadcom BC4852 but performance wont be as good as software
stripe .for HD video you will surely need to stripe 8 Drives
my suggestion is to use 8 port plain sata controller and stripe the drive in windows
8 x 300 GB maxtor drives on supermicro mv 8 sata controller i am able to get 500 MB burst
in decklink utility. card should coast you around 120 $ and its cheaper then any other hardware raid

i would like to point certain facts here

1 deck is in the remote mode and i can control deck from bm deck control and fcp

2 there are three such cards in the setup and all are faceing same problem

3 i checked sdi out from deck and its working fine

just to clarify about barrel connector
is it something like I joint or conector which has male bnc at both the ends?
please explain also what will this check ?
if black video comes and no input message goes then what should i do ?
I am planning to visit client in few hours
