    HI team

I have run into very much weird problem so far

    Deatils of setup

    2 GB Ram
    Decklink Pro

    software versions 1 / 10.4.2. qt 7.01 fcp 5.02 bm 5,1
    software version 2 10.3.8 qt 6.5.2 fcp 4,5 bm 4,8

i have three such systems with identical configuration

when I try to capture from digibeta input it says no video input
althougt when i sent colour bar from digi deck it shows up in the capture screen
but the moment you insert the tape it says no video input
i have tried all the possible combination of fixing the permissions and trashing kext files
I am sure i am doing something wrong somewhere
in all these years 20 + decklink install i have not encountered this problem

    please advise

    Hi Kushal,

Please disconnect any cables from the DeckLink Pro. Launch either Final Cut Pro or Blackmagic Deck Control and you should see a window which says “No video input.” Now use a barrel connector to connect the “SDI to deck” or “SDI Monitor” cable to the “SDI from deck” cable. If the DeckLink card is working, the “No video input” message should disappear and just be replaced by a black display. This will prove whether the card is working correctly or not.

Ensure the Digibeta is in “remote” mode and that the SDI in and SDI out cables are connected to the deck as well as the RS-422 cable.

Please let us know how you go.

    Hi Kushal,

[Kushal shah] “just to clarify about barrel connector

Yes, you are correct. It has a male connector at both ends. I used the term “barrel connector” as it looks like a barrel but your description is much clearer.

[Kushal shah] “please explain also what will this check ?”

If the “No video input” message remains when you have connected the DeckLink SDI output to the DeckLink SDI input, then the card is not working correctly and should be replaced.

[Kushal shah] “if black video comes and no input message goes then what should i do ?”

This would indicate that the DeckLink card is working correctly and that the problem is probably with the deck. I would suggest checking the settings on the deck, especially that it is in remote mode. Other readers of this forum might also be able to suggest other deck settings to check.

Does this happen only with this tape or all other tapes also ?

It might be possible the tape is bad – wrong format, colour, system etc?

    Margus.
