I ran into similar problem with an edit coming from FCP7:
Clips(subclips) that were renamed inside FCP during edit or had assigned colored labels in FCP did not go through correctly from FCP to Resolve with XML: they had wrong In/out. I had to manually reedit them with correct TC’s in Resolve. Could’nt figure out how to avoid these mistakes during xml-import 🙁

for me the resolve monitor is too bright, disturbing the looking to the projection.
lowering the monitor brightness in hardware is no option because I dont want to fidel around when switching to photoshop etc…
for now I am using the Brightness app (mac) to dim the screen while grading. quitting it sets the brightness back to normal.

so a brightness/saturation control for the resolve interface screen would be wellcomed option.

maybe your GH2 has vitali hack applied?
-> there is no need for this when using an extern recorder.
I sometimes had asynchron (A/V) recordings with Ninja because of altered firmware.

thank you Luke for investigating the issues!
I am shure the Viewsonic VP2650w with HDLink is a phänomenal cheap/great monitoring solution for editing, at least in NTSC, maybe with new software support even in PAL.. (thought not good enough for very color critical work)

looking forward to hear from you,

    hi luke,
I now did a test with the HDLink running EDID overriding and it works, thank you!
at least I can see the correct image in PAL, allthough movements are no more that smooth.
but the HDLinkPro using another methode to detect the monitor,
doesnt handle the situation correctly by itself.
is there another method ? I would need the Pro’s 3D LUT capability.

    thank you,
    kurt

thank you luke for your tips.
but it doesnt seem to be a problem of PAL frame rates only:
    – according to specs the monitor should be able to handle @50 @25 framerates
    – the problem is the same with the old HDLink and the new HDLinkPro

could it be that the monitor reports YUV capability to HDLink while it cant handle in PAL?
or does HDLink/Pro allways send RGB images to the monitor?

btw. the new viewsonic is a real chief for the price. see the specs here (nativ HD, 110% ntsc gamut, fast):
    https://ap.viewsonic.com/me/products/productspecs.php?id=347
maybe this specs can tell you something about the problem.

    regards,
    kurt

    bob is right.
a protection scheme is built inside quicktime:
    its called ‘media key’
and there is still a tab to enter them in the qt control panel.

I used it many years ago:
    – during encoding with CLEANER there was a way to specify the mediakey,
    a simple wordA:wordB pair
    – user has to enter/store this mediakey in the QT control panel,
otherwise the protected movie doesnt show its content (white display only).
