I can always count on you two.

Noah, looking forward to watching the Callbox Live dvd.

Shane, it was a pleasure meeting you and picking your brain at CineGear Expo.

Then is the P2PCCard Install.pkg on the included CD-rom only for PowerBooks??

As much as I’d love to get the P2Log, the forecast is calling for rain every day I’m down there. The $200 will have to go toward the PortaBrace rain gear for the HVX-200a. That is, of course, unless I hear tons of raves about the advantage of P2Log to my workflow.

    1) I will be offloading directly from camera to Macbook Pro (G-RAID mini 500 – bus powered) when at all possible.
    2) Then, back at base I will transfer to CalDigital FirewireVS with ChronoSync possibly(?).
Or can P2CMS do this transfer between hdd’s just as effectively?
    3) Only when the camera is in use, I will use the Duel-Adapter to ingest to that same drive setup.

    Thanks,
    Kirk

Although the price on the Sonnet Fusion F2 seems to have come down a bit, it still doesn’t alleviate the problem of being able to ingest straight to the drive. It is powered via firewire, but it has to be plugged into the Express Card slot through a SATA adapter. Thus the PCMCIA adapter couldn’t be used simultaneously. Right?

Thanks for the responses, guys. Keep them coming. The Sonnet Fusion F2 article and website make it sound like a great option, although it ain’t cheap… but neither are P2 cards.

Noah, where is that DVD? I was looking for something like that the other day and did not find it.

Thanks Dan. Have you had any problems with the performance or transfer speed of that WD drive? And what notebook drive(s) are you using?

After doing some digging, I’m assuming that this is yet another side effect of the 5.1.3 update.

I, also, have been having no problem with syncing my DVX100 audio with any version of FCP until yesterday. I was wondering what could suddenly cause it now. Moving the audio timeline +2 is a quick fix, but not perfect. The perfect placement actually seems to be at 1.5+ – as if that was even a possibility! I have not applied the Offset Audio Sync Tool, yet and was searching for this problem before doing so.

I’m using FCP 5.1.3 and I DO have audio/video from external deck.

Uh, where do find a list of what is “approved for FCP” usage? Didn’t know it existed.

    Uh, thanks, by the way.

And the third option is to select ‘OFF while recording’ in the Advaced tab. This allows you to still hear the audio through computer speakers while logging clips.
