I think it is great that you responded to the request in such an informative way. That’s great. I have a question. How much different should this work in FCP 7? The control map just doesn’t seem to respond the same way. I don’t get clear sets of letters. I tried increaseing the number of spheres but I’m missing something. Should this work the same in FCP 7?

    Thanks.

So, I’m wondering and I couldn’t find this on the release but if you own the BCC Version 8 for apple final cut 7 do you also get BCC for Final Cut X? Guess I have to send them an email and ask. I don’t have X yet but I did get Motion 5.

  • looks like a webinar is coming on bcc 8 for fcpx and motionx. Seems it is mainly for motion.

I own music plugins from a company called IkMultimedia. They recently moved to a “authorization manager” software that authorizes all of their separate plugins. You simply paste or type in the serials and it authorizes all the software on the computer. Works very well. It might be something to look at.

I don’t want to diminish the frustration by the op, I too had to wait overnight for a code but I appreciate the personal touch I’ve received when purchasing or upgrading Boris software. In particular, Mr. Barg has extremely responsive and helpful.

I was able to get 24 rolls of 8mm film digitized by a small company in Tampa for $174.00. It was easily worth it. I own a projector and tried the project and film method but was very unhappy. Some companies advertise that they clean the film before digitizing. I didn’t do that but the final project was acceptable for my expectations.

I’ve been down this road before. Just to let you know before hand I had 23 8mm reels converted for $180 in Tampa Florida a few years back. There are some places that do a decent job at a reasonable expense.

I don’t know if you have photoshop and at the time I did this (about 5 years ago) I only had FCP 4 so this may not be the best way now but it worked well for me.
Step one. Open movie file in quicktime pro. There may be other software that achieves the same goal. I exported the clip as individual photoshop files.
Then batch imported the files and used photoshop to fix and correct the images.
Then used quicktime to open the image files and save them back as a movie file.

When I first started using boris I ran into the same problem. It turned out I didn’t have the cursor in the timeline at the point of the effect. If I moved the cursor then the program window would appear correctly.
This may be what is happening to you.
