I am pretty sure I read that the purchased versions keep the old icon and the rental versions have the new icon and both can be installed on the computer simultaneously.

What I will be interested to know is if there will still be updates for the purchased versions.

Also your backup sizes may be related to background rendering. I would do all basic cuts first then go back and add any transitions, effects or color grading to the project.

How much ram in the MacBook Pro? It is a good machine but I would expect 32gb would be needed for that large of a project.

You could try turning off background renders and I would definitely say working on SSD drives is much better than even a 7200rpm spinning drive. I would double check the format of the external drive just to be sure. It does seem it is formatted for apple when I searched them. I am not an expert but I am curious what type of drives you are using and how they are formatted.

Also, do you have background rendering turned off or on?

Have you clicked the license manager to see if it can be activated or deactivated? Is it deactivated on the other computer?

Are you using their coremelt installer app?

I am not near my computer so can’t check but Borisfx has beat reactor. Not sure if it does an oscilloscope.

Do you have motion installed?

Garage band and Logic both have built drummers and a wide variety of instrument loops that can be used to construct song beds. Not a quick or easy as Soundtrack Pro but functional.

Yesterday I left the computer on and had Final Cut and preview. Came back and had an out of memory error. Haven’t had that in a while. Have 64gb.

I’m just a hobbyist, but I was not having much luck with Ventura and 10.6.10. Wheel of death and issues with some plugins. I had only recently upgraded to Ventura on my m1 studio. So far Sonoma is working better for me.

BorisFx Continuum has warping effects. Although, these remind me of the liquid effect in Photoshop. I did a few things in Photoshop extended CS6 but nothing this elaborate. It could be done but would be a lot of work.

Well, I am just a hobbyist but sure, would love to try and test a pre-release.
