Morphing/distortion effects

Hey, I’m a new FCPX user, and I’m looking for methods or plugins to do spatial distortion of selected parts of the image, with tracking. The “Deep Down Low” video is an example of the kinds of things I’m interested in: https://vimeo.com/153159513
I believe that AfterEffects might be the way to go for things like that. But I hate the software rental model that Adobe uses. Could Motion do things like that?

BorisFx Continuum has warping effects. Although, these remind me of the liquid effect in Photoshop. I did a few things in Photoshop extended CS6 but nothing this elaborate. It could be done but would be a lot of work.
