  • Hi Ajmetz,

Good to hear from you too – though I did try to e-mail you a few times. Mail me sometime for a catch-up?

  • Hi Ajmetz,

alt-apple U “unsync only video clips”, unsyncs the video whilst retaining the audio track sync, but I can’t remeber if that is in 7.5 or if it came in with version 8.

As for the other, I don’t think that’s possible in i, but one thing I’ve learnt by being on these forums is never say “it can’t be done” so I’m prepared to be wrong.

    Hi Jerome,

    1. Export as by-ref.

    2. Open the by-ref file in QT Pro.

    3. From the file menu click export.

    4. From the resulting menu select Windows Media (if that’s what you want it in – might as well as you have Flip4mac)

    5. Click on the options and adjust the settings to suit using the controls or the presets available.

You may want to do some tests with shorter export to get the size/quality you prefer.

    Hi USC,

Just a shot in the dark. Try doing a “render range to bin” across the whole timeline – this should render the whole thing into one codec. If the resulting clip plays OK, try exporting that as a by ref and go into DVDSP/Compressor.

April 24, 2007 at 4:01 pm in reply to: Pls Help! Converting from 44.1 to 48K in 8.2XS

    Hi Vic,

One way is to re-import your audio media from the media folder using the import menu. Set your hardware settings to 48k, go to import in the File menu, click on your audio media, change the drop menu to “convert to 48K” and import away.

If the programme is finished though, it might be quicker to export the whole timeline’s audio in one go and then re-import that as above. It would save time, but you won’t be able to edit the individual tracks obviously.

    Hi Chris,

AFAIK, the dual booting is only for the recent AJA OEM cards as it is the hardware drivers that conflict.

I have both FCP and Media100i running on my dual 1.42 G4 with no problems I have encountered. True I haven’t done any really heavy FCP editing on this set-up, but there doesn’t seem to be anything that conflicts.

    Hi Vis

For any effects like these I create a composite in the graphics track above the clips and use Boris (FX or RED) to perform the keying. This gives you much more flexibility and gets around the problems you mention.

After rendering I then use “render range to bin” in the scripts menu, setting a range for each keyed clip. This creates a new clip (video and audio) which you also get to name which is handy for media management purposes.

    Hi Ron and Floh,

Ron, am I right in saying that you are trying to capture video only ? Do you have any audio connection between the deck and the Media 100 (AES etc) and what is the audio set to in the preferences? I ask because I know there are issues when you try to digitise SDI video if the audio inputs are set to AES but there’s no feed attached, or if you try to digitise SDI video but analogue audio (I think that right – Floh?)

Anyway – have a check of the audio settings, it’s worth a shot.

    Ajmetz,

Me and my LE/DV beg to differ!

Of course you still have to have a DV option installed, which it sounds like Oscar’s hasn’t. The board still has the port even without the daughter card, that might be causing the confusion.

But I agree with you, it sounds like Oscar’s problems are related to the signal output and how he’s monitoring it rather than a hardware problem caused by the BOB.

Oscar – how is your input/output wired up, what devices are in the chain (deck, monitor) etc?
