Best Setup for Dual Boot G4
Hi Guys, I need to take an FCP job and want to make my G4 Dual 1.42 OS10.3.9 system dual boot FCP and M100. Other than installing another internal drive and loading FCP software there, do I also need to install OS and every other program (QT, AE, PS etc..)I intend to use with FCP there as well. I’ll only need Firewire in and out on the FCP. Thanks so much for your help. Till I can convince the world to switch back to M100 – I’ll have to give a little. Kind Regards, Chris K.

Hi Chris,
AFAIK, the dual booting is only for the recent AJA OEM cards as it is the hardware drivers that conflict.
I have both FCP and Media100i running on my dual 1.42 G4 with no problems I have encountered. True I haven’t done any really heavy FCP editing on this set-up, but there doesn’t seem to be anything that conflicts.
