  • It seems to me that the manner in which Apple without warning cut loose all of its TV and movie editors using FCP7 upon release of the initial version of FCPX should tell one everything they need to know about Apple’s commitment to this market. I doubt that Apple’s view of its self-interest in this regard is likely to be changed by open letter appeals.

  • There is an application called Final Cut Library Manager that locates and allows management of all FCP libraries on all connected Spotlight indexed drives. It is sold, I believe, by a company called Artic White. I have switched to Resolve, so I haven’t used it much recently, but I found it useful when I was using FCP.

Is there any possibility that Black Magic will release the Resolve 8 configuration guide as soon as it is available (i.e., before the release of the software). I plan to get an OpenCL card for use with Final Cut Pro X (which I believe will be released a bit before Resolve 8) and I would like to be sure to select a card that is also compatible with Resolve 8.

    Thanks,
    Kevin
