Seek to source? Never heard of it. I think you mean “Match Frame”. To restore the clip, make sure that you’ve auto-selected the proper track. F performs the match frame F10 edits it back into the Timeline.

Are you scaling up the NTSC clips from D1 to DVCPRO HD? If so, don’t expect the quality to be great. I think it’s better to downconvert the HD to D1 size.

No one I know has tested Digital Cinema Desktop output from a Radeon card. Might be worth a shot. Back in the day, a Radeon would only output the quality of the video in the Canvas, which is not full-quality, but nowadays we have DCD – which is a lot better.

You need a video capture card to monitor 1080i. Period.

“Lift” and “Extract”? What system are YOU editing on? This is referred to a “Delete” and a “Ripple Delete” in FCP land. 😉

Why did you bother mastering to DV 50 if your output DVCAM? Was the source DV 50? Have you considered using a DV 50 deck to output the master? That would be the best scenario.

First and foremost, however, you do need to check the graphics on a video monitor and NOT the Canvas in the computer monitor.
