Thanks for your input, it seems that in video world these days that there is a lot of sloppy shooting. I want to create an environment that can draw a viewer into the content even if it’s just a talking head.

June 9, 2005 at 10:17 pm in reply to: where are the jobs these days

I agree that the creative work will shine through. I think a key to that is consistentcy in the delivery of quality work. Though that is no different than any other industry out there. The reason I am asking these questions is I have been looking for a position for about a year now and I am trying to get a grasp what market is wanting. It still amazes me how crappy the production value of some shows I see on discovery and the like. I’m thinking “how did these people get the job”. Anyway, now I’m rambling.
    Thanks

Thanks for the replys, I am glad to hear of others that know what I am talking about. I like the Total training stuff because they teach you from the perspective of the designer, and in some case the guys are the ones who orginally created the plug. I will keep at, and I do spend many of a night reading or fiddling with ae. How many of you are combining more than one application such as max?

Wouldn’t vegas do the trick? I was looking at Den Velez’s tutorial on animated stroke. I was playing with that and came up with something very similar. If I remeber right i changed the echo up to about 90. Here’s the tut:

I was talking more about when you make a mask like a curved swoop. I want the mask to stay smooth. I think the key is to make the swoops in il or photoshop. Thanks for the help.
