    Hi Mike,

I had a different problem working with Phantom Flex .cine files where they appeared in 9b2 as incorrectly blue. There may have been a decoder setting that was off somewhere, but I didn’t dig too deep because the files worked correctly in 8.2. I would suggest trying the same in 8.2.

Thanks, I’m going to be trying 2K 444 with the Ultrastudio 3D with a Mac Mini i7.

  • Hi Robert,

What is the config on your scopebox machine and video i/o? Do you regularly do 2K 444? Thanks for pointing me towards the product, I think it might be exactly what I need for the moment…

    Hi Daniel,

If you have a disk array that can play back DPX files in realtime (and it’s being used for the cache), you can switch to “user selected clips” render cache mode. Then when you right click a clip and mark the clip for render cache, Resolve will write out DPX files the first time through the clip. Then until you make a change it will play back in realtime.

You could also enable “all clips” render cache mode and you won’t have to select each one.

    Hope that helps.

    Hi Stacy,

I did not and I never heard a resolution from BMD. Definitely e-mail them at davincihelp at blackmagicdesign dot com.

    I blame Arri.

    Hi Matt,

What kind of ProRes files give you trouble? Are they Log-C or are you adding a LUT at some point in the chain?

I believe that since Resolve is applying the changes to a fully decoded RGB image, and that there wouldn’t be a difference based on the source media. But there would be a big difference if you color before vs. after a LUT.

I started just taking Sascha’s old one and upping the resolution to 4096×2160. Seems to work as expected (basically is 4 times harder for the cards). I put some results in this thread, but didn’t have a 580×3 set up to test, I’d be curious what you get.

August 11, 2012 at 2:16 am in reply to: Alexa timecodes come up 00:00:00:00

Thanks Anish, sent that along. Just to be clear- this configuration has worked and still works with all other Alexa footage, and I haven’t seen this problem with any other footage from any camera…

My workaround was (ugh) to read the “media start” on the transcoded dailies and use “change timecode” to specify the media start on the camera originals. Many hundred of times. While doing that, we noticed some oddities in the camera original footage. Occasionally the camera recorded exactly 9-second takes of green frames…it’s unclear if the camera rolled or if it was writing these clips to the cards without rolling. On those clips, the time resets to 00:00:00:00.

There’s definitely something wrong with the clips from the camera, but in the end we seem to be able to get the picture in by manually putting in the timecode and extracting reel numbers from file path…
