Gary,

The situation would be the base ISO is say, 800, but we decide to shoot at 400 or 200 or 100 in an attempt to reduce the noise. We would be doing a proper exposure by using more x2, x4 or x8 the amount of light we would have at 800.

I was just wondering since the sensor doesn’t amplify at base ISO 800, what is it doing under that ISO, and would that really provide a less noisy image, provided we are lighting things properly.

One question to you or anyone else. If a base ISO is an unamplified sensor capture, what happens at a lower ISO than the base ISO? Is the sensor just less sensitive so with that comes less noise?

I think I figured out what it is: My exported videos are have a Rec.709 profile attached to them, BUT I’m working in sRGB and when I’m rendering, the Output Module is set to sRGB as well. Any idea why this is happening?

I’m thinking it’s being interpreted as Rec.709 but still has sRGB values, and that’s why there is a color shift/washed out look.

The wide gamut NEC has been profiled with a colorimeter, and I am working in an sRGB color managed workflow within After Effects…so I am puzzled.

Can you put your clip (inside the Project Panel) into a comp then replace your clip in your timeline with this comp. Then inside that comp you can stabilize your footage. The footage in the comp will need to be trimmed to the exact in and out points of the clip in your timeline of course.
