Advice on Mac Pro Requirements for 4K
Hello,
I’m in charge at work of ordering a Mac Pro that can handle 4k well. I will be doing video editing and After Effects on it. I’m guessing we’ll want as much SSD space and RAM as we can get. Would 32 GB of RAM be enough though? What about the processor and video cards? Looking to see what we can get away with to start. I’d love to recommend upgrading to the best option for everything but we don’t have that kind of budget. Any insights would be appreciated.

The new MacPro tubes will do. The best you can afford. Although I did hear from someone who uses them, as well as the newer 5K iMacs, that the iMacs are doing better at working with 4K than the tubes. BTW, they use Premiere Pro.
Will you be using FCX? Not FCP 7, right? I ask as this is the forum for Legacy FCP…FCP 7 and earlier.
32 GB will be plenty. Also make sure that you get a hard drive RAID fast enough to play this footage back on.
OH, and whatever you tried to post a picture of…all you send was a screen grab of three photo links. You need to actually post those links, as EMBEDDED, for us to see them.
