    Good to know, thanks.

Can you recommend a way to monitor the xdcam output on a TV screen? I deliver for SD broadcast so I’d like to monitor in that format. Can the YRB camera output be used?

Checked the minimum specs on the apple site and my system just creeps in at the minimum requirement level.

Should have said I have an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro graphics card
and my OS is not 10.4.1 it’s 10.4.10 (forgot that important trailing zero)

    Cheers,

Thanks everyone – have tried all suggestions and think it is indeed a blown f/w connector.

    Best,

    >thanks for everybodys help. i had to turn off the downlink converter and also hook up my >camera first before turning on fcp. thanks again!

Tried this – no joy. I suspect there may be a camera fault.

In fact I see there’s a correlation meter in Soundtrack for this purpose – be nice to check this in FCP though – to save the potential hiccups going out to Soundtrack and back.

On a more helpful note – I see you trashed the FCP prefs but I suspect it’s more likely you have a midi issue. Have you tried updating the driver, or re-installing?

    Good Luck,

Mackie MCU fine here too – both with 5 and 6. Bit weird with Soundtrack but then, I think that’s Soundtrack.

Thanks – sending a video signal to the composite input helped – have to fork out for a B&B unit I guess.
