  • audio phase test in FCP?

Posted by Ken Pugh on June 4, 2007 at 8:47 am

I have a PPM metre but it has no phase test function. As I have to deliver programmes dual channel mono – and the channels are summed on transmission – it’s clearly important the two channels are in phase. Does anyone know if there’s a way to test for this in FCP prior to mastering? Or some way the master can be re-digitised and tested then? Is this something Soundtrack might be able to accomplish?

    Many thanks,

    Ken.

In fact I see there’s a correlation meter in Soundtrack for this purpose – be nice to check this in FCP though – to save the potential hiccups going out to Soundtrack and back.

Just monitor everything in mono instead of stereo? Is that too low tech?
