FCP cannot handle native H264 media in real time. You need to transcode all your footage to a format that FCP can work with (such as ProRes 422) before you start editing.

Regarding the flicker: the problem is introduced when scaling from HD (1920) to DVD (720). If you are using Compressor to compress your media to m2v, turn Frame Controls on, and change the Resize Filter to “Best”. All the other settings can stay on “Fast”.
BTW – it took me YEARS to figure this out. I purchased (Innobits BitVice) or tried every possible DVD compression software and spent dozens of hours trying to alleviate the issue. I scoured these forums and asked questions and was given all kinds of advice – none of it worked until I did the above.

I previously scoured Video—-Hive (great resource!) and other AE template sites to no avail before posting. I was just hoping that somebody here might recognize this particular animation and be able to tell me exactly where I can buy it – if it is even for sale.
The main thing I want to do is to be able to go in and change the title and generally get a cleaner resolution. The only form I have it in is from a standard def DVD.
The animation appears (to me anyway) to be a 3D animation background with tracked placeholders for text and/or video. I would guess that the light sources would be generated with AE.

That’s because you are not supposed to put the stocking on the front of the lens. You are supposed to remove the lens, put the small piece of stocking on the back of the lens, and then re-attach the lens.

I bought the desk about seven years ago so I really don’t remember how the legs are attached or if I had any problems assembling the desk.

In my experience, every camera’s internal clock will run at a slightly different speed. This means that as the day progresses the cameras’ time codes will drift further apart – just like no two digital watches always keep the exact same time.
If your cameras stop and start constantly you can use the free-run time code as reference to get you in the ball park, but probably the most hassle free way of syncing all this up is to purchases pluraleyes.
The only foolproof way to keep time code in sync is to jam the time code to each camera with a BNC cable. You don’t necessarily need a stand-alone generator. You can use one camera as the time code generator and then loop from camera to camera with these cameras set to external time code.

Did you install the ProKit update? I started having these same issues immediately after the update. I first noticed the spinning beach ball in Compressor, but have also had the same video playback problems you are experiencing.

I have noticed that Compressor started “hanging” immediately after I installed the ProKit update. Anything I do in Compressor takes about 10 seconds for the screen to refresh. I get the spinning beach ball. For instance, if I add a file it spins. If I add a new setting it spins. I use Compressor every day and it has never done this before.

I have been working on a series of 4-5 minutes videos all week. FCP has been crashing 5-6 times a day. Perhaps something got broken in a software update?
