I run into this problem on occasion and believe it or not I just plain forget to plug in the mike. Thought I’d share this …pretty silly huh?

I just stumbled upon this and I’m guessing the design has changed since the original post. I can’t see why the video on the home page goes to YouTube when clicked. My opinion is you’ve lost them already unless you can insert some good call to action links within the video itself to get them back.

An invaluable source for web usability..

I suppose I could always take along a small pocket camera? Bad idea, I know. I also wondered how clips like this can be possible. Particularly shots with many people.

How do news organizations do it? Sorry for such a newbie question…but.

    Thanks to All:

It still did not work with John’s simple page explaining it. Then Joao’s comments made me think. The image file or shape has to be square. I had it at 500 x 300 pixels originally.

    Problem solved! Thanks all

November 4, 2012 at 11:41 am in reply to: how to make whiteboard “scribe” videos

I was looking for something similar, but my purpose is text over in “how to” videos. It would occupy an area similar to what is seen on the video below at 2:09. Problem is it doesn’t allow importing custom fonts. Anybody know of other sources for this?

    Beautiful! Thanks Very Much Bob:

Will look into this. Not sure about “every creator.” Every part of the production is done entirely by me including the website. No acquired video or graphics except some minor clip art. Anything else?

It finally sunk in John. Spending a few days away from it did the trick.

    Thanks very much.

    Still Struggling John:

I’m the type where it takes awhile to “get it.” After that no problem, providing I keep notes. Forget the other. I’m, going to 1280 x 720 where I’ll work with the scroll. I should just forget YouTube on this and go to Vimeo because I won’t be using Camtasia that often. Another thing is it’s all graphics and no actual video so why bother.

Here’s YouTube with square pixels. Still doesn’t look good. Another thing is the actual website is set to 960 pixels and not fluid.

    1280 x 720 Camtasia
    1280 x 720 Vegas settings
    1280 x 720 render – square pixels

I have actual video/film quality nailed with square pixels using standard def. thanks to the help here, but this one stumps me.

It doesn’t look bad in 16-9 ratio
