I tested the cables, decks and cameras all on another computer in my studio. I get the same results. Only the Z5 is recognized. Both computers are running WIN 7 64bit and driver 1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller (Legacy). I don’t know if getting a FW card would change anything.

Still can’t believe 4 FW ports on 4 devices are broke.

  • After a few issues, my V12 has been running “fairly” stable. Still get about 1 crash a day though. And Sony never responds. I do have Premiere Pro 5.5 and have to learn it if Sony doesn’t get their act back together. Love Vegas when it is working.

I wonder if Sony has looked up the definition of “acceleration”. I thought it meant to go faster, not slower.

Steve, in my case rendering just stops. The image on the Preview freezes. The render counter continues to run. Time remaining counter goes to 0:00:00.00. No error message. Cancelling render does nothing. PC still functioning. I have to go and kill the V12 process and restart V12. This last render stopped about 36 mins into a 120 min show and I reset dynamic ram to 100. Now trying it at 0.

I have ran this show through render about 6 times (minor changes required in edit) and 3 of those had this stoppage.

  • I have had something like that but it was more of a strobbing effect where it would flash between vid track 1 and 2 every frame. It was caused by the Sony Sharpen filter when used with any other filter for NewBlueFX or Marcalli.

I used NBFX’s sharpen filter ans all was fine.

In my case, my dynamic ram is set at 200 and my GPU on for my Quadro 4000. WIN 7 64bit system is up to date.I also have 32GB of RAM.

In resetting the dynamic ram to either 100 or ever 0, is this just for rendering?

This was a clean/new install of Vegas pro 12 on a new computer. In the process (long story short) it seems the brand new Quadro 4000 card is faulty. As you enter the NVIDIA Panel the panel locks and computer freezes and all goes black then reboots itself. Same with different drivers. It was tested with another Q4000 card before shipping to me and worked/tested just fine. And I thought PNY was a good brand!
