Well something is wrong with Sony’s DVDA when it comes to BD burning. All the BD’s I ran today will not play on any Blu-ray player I have. It “Can’t play disk”.

Why does Sony’s DVDA even give you this option to burn BD’s?

The crashes:
1. During playback, video freezes, audio continues to lay, Vegas interface goes ghostly white and then final the Vegas has stopped work message comes up.

2. The entire Vegas interface simply vanishes. No warning. “Poof” gone.

3. Sometimes just during editing the interface will lockup. The everything in #1 takes place.

I will try all those other suggestions. This is a custom built system and I have know the builder for over 20 years so replacing/fixing components is no big issue. Just a slight cost if any.

Crashes started back in Vegas 10-11 on another system, but it was an old computer.

I’ll let you know what I find after your suggestions.

I haven’t really tried that yet. I guess I could bring over the media files for the project in-works on to a single drive and edit from that data.

I’ve tried it both ways. Doesn’t seem to make a diff. I’ll re-post this BELOW as a new post as well.

I’m getting close to the final straw here with all my Vegas crashes. So far no solution presented has cured this problem. Something on, in or near my edit system is killing Vegas Pro 12 for me. I have daily crashes. And several different types of crashes too; as the way it crashes and the crash messages. And, of course, this causes the stoppage of the creative flow of editing.

I keep hearing some Vegas users say their system never crashes while working in Vegas. So what do I have that is a causing this cancer on my system?

I think the only solution is to have a WIN 7 64bit expert, computer expert and a Sony Vegas expert go on my system and check all settings and maybe even be on site with hands on. Maybe it’s just too close to the street! I’d like to get this fixed once and for all before I have to once again start looking for another NLE.

Also every time I shut down Vegas I get that message “Vegas Pro has stopped working…… check for solution……. close program” message.

What’s going on here?

Well, not so good. It’s crashing today. Those crashes where the interface goes all ghosty-white.

Something else we can try? Should I have my GPU ON or OFF during edit. ON or OFF during rendering?

John, down loaded those new drivers and installed. No crashing yet but I haven’t been at the edit bay that much today. I’ll keep you posted.

I’ll try that. The only other cards in the system are my BlackMagic DeckLink for I/O and a RAID card that interfaces with 2 external RAIDs. All my video footage is stored on these 9TB RAID-5s.
